日本神话中主持人间福德的七位神。一般指大黑天、惠比寿、毗沙门天、弁财天、福禄寿、寿老人、布袋和尚七神。此外有福禄寿和寿老人是同神异名之说,故把吉祥天也放入七福神之列。七福神据说起源于佛教的七难即灭、七福即生之观念,

大黑天是开运招福之神,能驱除恶神,保人平安,其形象为头戴黑巾、肩背布袋、手持木槌、脚踏米袋。
惠比寿是商业之神,能保佑生计和生意兴隆、如意,其形象为身着猎衣、右手握钓竿、左手抱大头鱼、满面笑容。
毗沙门天是无量智慧神,拥有取之不尽的才智,其形象为身披戎装,一手捧宝塔、一手持宝棍。
弁财天是福德自在神,七福神中的唯一女神,精通音乐、善于雄辩,其形象为头饰八莲冠,怀抱琵琶。
福禄寿是幸福、厚禄、长寿之神,其形象为连鬓美须,手持拐杖,常与白鹤为伴。
寿老人是长寿不老神,源于中国的道教,其形象为瘦脸长须,手持宝杖,常有鹿伴随。
布袋和尚是洪福吉祥之神,又称弥勒菩萨,其形象为肚大、体胖,卧扶大布袋。
